My brother Bill Lloyd sent me this EXCELLENT movie on Emitt Rhodes. It reminds me yet again how lucky I have been. In 1979 I was asked by Ray Paul Klimek to be in the backup band-along with my fellow-VanDeLecki Bryan S in LA at Poptopia–Emitt’s first appearance in 23 years. I recommend you take the hour and sit and watch this really-well done documentary. I’m actually in this…In my mind, Emitt Rhodes is a story of what can happen when a musical genius (McCartney’s league) deals with and accepts his successes and failures in life-and has the balls NOT to kill himself, somehow. Thank the higher powers that Emitt is still here, and still making top-shelf music….for himself. We all benefit.
