One of the cool things about doing what I do is that I get to record and be involved with a huge variety of musical styles. I can’t believe it was 19 years ago that we recorded this cool disc with Dave Rhames and the Westchesters back at good ole Hooverama! Dave has always had a vision and the cool thing is I can still see it quite clearly. “Beautiful day”!

I have been involved with Randy Franklin now as a friend, fellow musician, songwriter, and as a producers for years…….and years…..and years. I have watched (and listened) to him carry his good karma, enthusiasm, and musical talent to new hights-with every effort. He just keeps taking it up! This new cvd of his “Coastlines” is his best, so far! I recorded a lot of this, but also Boo English did as many tracks as well. Dave Harris did an EXCELLENT job mastering these tracks. This particular song is a co-write from Randy and I. In a perfect world-we would be on top of it…..maybe we are anyway? 🙂 Go Ranj!

This is Catesby Jones! I met him in Southport at a songwriter’s festival and got to perform along side him, us both doing solo stuff. He, his songs, and guitar playing knocked me out. He has quite a history-being a Nashville staff song writer for a number of years-and having success with a number one Travis Tritt hit entitled “Country Club”, which is coincidentally in the recent movie “The Mule”.
Fast forward to now. Catesby is one of those songwriters that goes to work writing songs every day. He writes maybe 3 or 4 keepers every month. This song “We Hate Everyone” was introduced to me this last summer at a songwriter’s open-mic night I hosted in Southport. It knocked me and the rest of the crowd out! A very timely song…..At the end of the night I said “we have to cut this!” Here it is. We are just getting started on a complete new cd for him–so stay tuned..

A nice little darker view of Valentine’s Day…..;-)You might just hear this at The Evening Muse this Sunday….I’m just sayin’….
