1/2/19–Handle With Care-and Happy New Year!
This is the first track from my “Jamie Hoo-Ever” cd from years back. Most everything on this disc are either covers I did for various tribute albums; this from Lynne Me Your Ears-a tribute to Jeff Lynne, or just songs I loved so much I had to cover. The CD title Hoo-Ever was of course a play on words but it was also how I was credited on a big Gospel record by John P Kee-called We Walk By Faith. They credited me as Jamie Hooever…..so of course I HAD to use that for my title. This record is still available for sale! On this song, by the way I took liberties with a word in there…..guess which one?
12-26-18–Merry After-Christmas!
This is from the Spongetones “Mersey Christmas” CD from way back when, and written and totally performed by Greg James, who is in my opinion a genius. Dec ember 26th is the perfect day to listen to this cut. Merry After-Christmas!
12/24/18–What Am I Gonna Get??
Now before you get mad at me here-know this: When I am asked to describe my meaning with this song-a four-letter word comes to mind: j-o-k-e. I simply thought it would be funny to write a song about “receiving” at this festive time of the year. The yin and the yang……so remember-I love to give in the holiday season, and I do….but we’d all be lying not to say it’s kinda fun (especially as a child, which I am) to get a gift or two…or three…or…..
PS: all the proceeds do actually go to charity….:-)-(see the link on my Soundcloud)
12/19/18–Lots Of Good Bones! Raggs!
This was a tune I got to write (with Becky Story) and sing for the kids show “Raggs Kids Club Band” several-few years ago. BIG FUN working on these little pop songs and they actually sold well-especially in Australia…but here too. You can see episodes on PBS regularly still, I believe. It was fun, writing from the perspective of being a dog…..plus the show’s cat mascot “Dumpster” makes an appearance at the end….yay!
