5/10/18–“In A Little Tango” by Jamie And Steve…!

From our most recent Jamie And Steve EP “Sub Textural”…..a bit of a diversion for us……with very cool artwork by Issa Ibrahim!

The tunes on this record were created over a period of several years, in different situations, different states of mind. The connections were the music, and we two. As a final thought, we decided to connect all of these with bits of Morse code.

5/7/18–….with Ray Paul and Emitt Rhodes!

I got to play a rare appearance with Emitt Rhodes, Ray Paul, and Bryan Shumate, while touring with The VanDeLecki’s-at an IPO show in LA. After that Ray paul asked me to play on this cool version of “Some SIng, Some Dance” penned by M. Pagliaro. Here it is! This is included on “The Charles Beat”.

5/3/18–The BCC Orchestra!

Every Wednesday afternoon I teach a class at Brunswick Community College on “Recording And Production”, which is a whole lot of fun for me-and I think for my students. Many take the class over and over. It’s kinda like having another band-with revolving members of all ages. Each student has their own objectives: some just to learn about the process of music…some as a composing tool…some to play music and meet others. I figure after all these years-I need to spread what I’ve learned around. It’s a trill to me! The players on this recording that we examined by recording-“8675309” are: Scott Beavers-all vocals, Michael Browning-multiple guitars, Vince Bove-Bass, Mike Gore-guitar solo, Chris Gore-keyboards, and yours truly on drums. BIG fun!!

5/1/18–The Saving Graces!

From 2004, released on The Paisley Pop Label-by my good friend Michael Slawter. This was the first of a number of projects together-and it still sounds great! It was recorded to Hooverama. Michael has co-written with me (Help Me Janie, Help!), recorded with me, and done a lot of art direction for me over the years. He has a cool guitar shop now “Heyday Guitars” and is a serious player in the NC pop scene. A man of many talents! Go check him out!

The Spongetones return to the historic Amuzu Theater-Southport, NC!

The Spongetones return to the historic Amuzu Theater in Southport for an evening of British Invasion music from the 60’s-as well as later music from the 60’s psychedelic period of musical history. The Spongetones have 13 records as well, so there will be a few originals scattered through the sets. The last shows sold out quickly, so act quickly to get tickets. They are only available at The Ricky Evans Gallery and at Color Me Carolina, both in Southport/Oak Island area. Sorry-cash and or check only at promoter’s request. This will be a rock show-so the music will possibly get loud! Ticket price-$20.
