6/19/18–Too Clever By Half…Live!

When I played a week or so ago at Ted’s in Willmington the host George Scheibner at WHQR was nice enough to come out to the show. He brought me a cd of the entire “Soup To Nuts” radio show that I did with him back in 2017. Allergy season when I did the show, of course-so my voice was ragged for most of it-but I was able to pull it off, mostly by being silly. Here’s the song “Too Clever By Half”, which actually came of pretty well. yay! Thanks George-you’re the man!

6/18/18–It’s Love, Come What May

I have done lots of these pop compilation records over the years and this is a really cool one. Dennis Diken turned me on to this song, which is a killer! I decided to go “Mitch Miller” with my arrangement, which was fun. The cover shown here is from the Japanese release of “Our Favorite Texan: Bobby Fuller Four-Ever!” #9 records-assembled I believe by Marshall Crenshaw and Izumi Ito. I also included it on my “Most Loved Melodies” cd much later. It is my understanding that Bobby Fuller’s cause of death….was drowning. In gas….arg.

6/15/18–There’s A Place….(there is!)

This is still my number 1 favorite song of all time-and I don’t say that lightly. Like all tunes like this-I had to cover it, simply so I could continue to stay in the world with it. To get past it, in a way….I could not do it like the B’s for karaoke reasons-what’s the point? So-I did it drop D tuning in 6/8. I tried to deliver it like Dixon would have…..yay!

6/12/18–10 Trucks-Walker Meadows!

I have worked with Walker Meadows for a number of years now-and he just keeps kicking out wonderful alt pop recordings. This is the latest and his newest project is called “10 Trucks”. He’s on Soundcloud. Mofre to come—I really love this stuff-you will too!
